Geetesh Kapoor × JoinCommunity.Solar | A lower electric bill for your new home
Geetesh Kapoor Shared by Geetesh Kapoorfor the people he has helped buy a home

New keys. A lower electric bill.

The electric account is one of the first things you put in your name. Community solar lowers that bill: most Maryland households save 10%, and income-qualified households can save more. Nothing to install, no upfront cost, cancel anytime.

About 3 minutes. No credit check.

For homes in Maryland on BGE, Pepco, Potomac Edison or Delmarva Power, and in D.C. and Delaware. Renters qualify too, because this runs off your electric account and not your roof.

Your move-in list

One more thing to tick off, and it pays you back

  • Close on the house
  • Get the keys
  • Put the electric account in your name
  • Lower that electric bill with community solar

A community solar farm sends credits to your utility. The credits land on the electric bill you already pay, and the bill comes down. That is the whole thing.

You stay with your utility exactly as you are. Same bill, same account, same people you call when the power goes out. Nothing is installed at your new home and there is nothing to look after.

  • Nothing to install
  • No upfront cost
  • No cancellation fee
  • Renters qualify

What you save

It depends on where the new home is

Each utility runs its own program. Most households save 10%. If someone in your home takes part in a program like SNAP, Medicaid or energy assistance, it can be more. We work out which one you are before you sign anything.

Delaware · Delmarva Power

Up to 90% offfor income-qualified households

Delaware has no offer yet for households over the income line.

Bought in Virginia or Pennsylvania? Community solar is not something we can offer there yet. If you are not sure which utility serves the new address, the first question in the form will tell you.

What you do

Three steps, all on your phone

  1. Answer two questions

Your utility, and whether your household is on an assistance program. You see what you would save before we ask for your name.

  2. Read it and sign

Your agreement opens right here, in plain words first. No paperwork in the mail. Most people are done in about three minutes.

  3. Send one photo of your bill

We read your account number and your usage off the photo, so there is nothing for you to type out.

Built for a life that moves

A lot of Geetesh’s clients serve, or have served. Community solar fits a household that may get orders again.

Nothing on the house

Nothing is installed, so there is nothing to remove if you sell or rent the home out later.

No cancellation fee

If orders take you somewhere else, you can cancel anytime.

Renters welcome

While you’re still looking for your home.

The program is offered by JoinCommunity.Solar (Our Power Co.), not by Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. Fairway does not sponsor or endorse it, it is not a mortgage product, and enrolling is not required for, and has no effect on, any loan. Geetesh Kapoor is not the subscriber organization for your community solar subscription. The Kapoor Team logo is shown with his permission.

Savings are a percentage of the value of the solar credits you receive and vary by household, utility and farm. Delaware: up to 90% off the Delmarva Power bill for income-qualified households, because Delmarva’s flat connection fee remains. Community solar is offered subject to program availability and utility eligibility, and not every address can be served. Income-qualified pricing depends on the program your household takes part in, and Pepco requires a document confirming it. Virginia and Pennsylvania are not available.
